Majorette Nissan Pathfinder 2-door and Kenworth T600

In the 1990's Majorette went to the lowest point with some cost-cutting moves that reduced metal for plastic bases, crude details, and no opening parts.  To add to that Majorette created a separate line of vehicles called Novacar that was essentially plastic-bodied vehicles unique to the line.  It was unsuccessful so most of those new toolings were carried over into the Majorette line, with the plastic bodies still intact!  Here's a few examples here, though I wanted just the Nissan and I had to get a two-pack with the Kenworth to obtain it.

Nissan Pathfinder

With the success of the Ford Bronco II, Chevy S-10 Blazer, and Toyota 4-runner Nissan was not about to be left behind and in 1986 introduced the two-door Pathfinder SUV based on the new Hardbody pickup also released that same year.  Like the 4-runner it shares the same front-end look with the pickup, but then adds a rear roof with diagonal C-pillar to give it that SUV look.  Unlike the Toyota the Nissan rear cap is a solid piece and does not come off.  The interior has the same layout as the pickup, as does the frame and powertrains.  The new 3.0L SOHC V6 was a first for Nissan trucks and borrowed from the Nissan ZX line; it produces 153 horsepower through a 5-speed manual transmisison and to the rear wheels with available part-time four-wheel drive system.  A four-door model was added in 1990 and eventually replaced the two-door model.  By 1996 the Pathfinder was now a uni-body SUV and by 2012 the Pathfinder was now a cross-over, car-based SUV.

While it is nice to see Majorette make the two-door Pathfinder (called Terrano in other markets), it's a shame it was part of the crude Novacar line.  The white body with nifty Sheriff's badges is all plastic, while the metal base offers no working suspension.  The front has detailed headlights, tri-slots on the hood, and grille and lower bumper that is part of the metal base.  The side profile has some nicely done lines that show off the fender blisters and diagonal pillar, while the rear has vertical taillights and detailed tailgate stamp.  The blue interior shows off only two front seats and a steering wheel flat against a non-existent dashboard.  If you want a highly-detailed Pathfinder, go for the Tomica Limited Nissan Terrano 2-door, but for those who want a Pathfinder casting no matter the level of details this Majorette version will do just fine.  Still, if only Majorette tried harder...

Kenworth T600

It is not often you see Majorette selling tractor cabs by itself as the majority of them are sold with a trailer in the rear, no matter what.  This Kenworth T600 is a rare sight as it is the only solo tractor cab sold by Majorette, and like the Nissan part of the cheap Novacar line.  The plastic body now has glitter and is transparent (oh, jeez!), a metal base, and no interior thanks to yellow windows.  Looking aside from the fact you have one nicely-done body that features quad headlights that are recessed into the front fenders, a metal split Kenworth grille, smooth front fenders, hood lines, steps to the cab that are cleanly integrated into the bodywork, sleeper cab, and detailed taillights.  Compared to the squished Hot Wheels version this Majorette T600 has that proper look of the most aerodynamic Kenworth of the 1990's.  There is a hitch in the back to tow a trailer, but does it work i'm not sure.  Once again another nicely-done Majorette casting if only they tried harder back then!
